Putnam Sheriff Welcomes New Deputy, New Sergeant

There’s a new deputy sheriff and new sergeant in town -- actually, in the county -- who will be tasked with keeping Putnam residents safe.

Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. announced the promotion of a new sergeant and swore in a new deputy who will soon be patrolling local streets.

Langley announced that Sgt. Ed Kennedy has been promoted and new Sheriff Deputy Brian Sacher has been sworn in to represent Putnam County.

On Facebook, the department posted, “It’s another exciting day here at the #PCSOny with a promotion and new deputy being sworn in. Congratulations to Sergeant Ed Kennedy and welcome and congratulations to Deputy Brian Sacher! Best wishes and thank you for your service! #putnamcountyny#putnamsafeputnamstrong #besafeoutthere"
